Worlds largest chaga mushroom
World’s Largest Chaga Mushroom
Ever wonder where on earth is the WORLD’S BIGGEST piece of Chaga?
Well, for now… at Chi Chaga headquarters, in the spring of 2021, Chi Chaga’s harvest team, while deep in the woods in the northern region of Quebec, found not only the largest single piece of Chaga we have ever seen, but the biggest one ever recorded—a world record size! The true “King” of Medicinal Mushrooms.
This perfectly shaped “Diamond of the Forest” weighs a whopping 78.2 pounds with a 42-inch circumference, and we estimate that it’s somewhere between 70 to 80 years old. The average size of a full-grown mushroom is 15 to 20 inches, weighing 10 to 15 pounds, and is 10 to 20 years old.
Because of Chi Chaga’s commitment to ethical harvesting practices, an additional 15 to 20 pounds was left intact and untouched, allowing the Chaga to re-grow without damaging the tree.
Worlds biggest (recorded) Chaga Mushroom
Although the process to officially apply for world record status is currently underway, we’re not treating this as a competition or a challenge to find the largest piece. We’re certain that an even bigger one may be hiding somewhere in the wild, and if it’s ever found, we’d love to share those images on this page.
